Senior Manager, Technical Program Management – Wearables & AI
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Program Management to lead complex product and solution development programs spanning wearable hardware, embedded software, firmware, cloud technologies, AI and SaaS.
This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for someone who has successfully taken sophisticated hardware/software products from concept through development, integration and commercial launch while leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and developing other program-management professionals.
The Opportunity
You will lead cross-functional programs involving Systems, Hardware, Firmware, Software, Test, Product Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing and other business functions.
The role combines hands-on technical program leadership with people leadership, including responsibility for establishing program-management standards, developing team members, managing significant budgets and ensuring complex product initiatives achieve performance, quality, cost, schedule and business objectives.
You will work across the complete product lifecycle — from early concepts and business cases through architecture, development, validation, manufacturing, launch and post-sale support.
What You'll Do
Lead complex technical programs involving hardware, firmware, software, cloud and AI-enabled solutions.
Provide functional leadership and development to Technical Program Managers and cross-functional program teams.
Drive programs from concept definition and requirements validation through architecture, development, integration, validation and commercial deployment.
Establish program plans, governance, milestones, performance standards and risk-management processes.
Manage scope, schedule, development budgets and technical dependencies across multiple workstreams.
Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and other stakeholders to define product requirements, business cases and product roadmaps.
Lead New Product Introduction planning spanning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, launch readiness and post-sale support.
Coordinate system integration, release planning, demonstrations, proof-of-concept programs and pilots.
Develop executive-level program reviews, dashboards and reporting for senior leadership.
Lead cross-functional teams working across multiple locations and time zones.
Identify program risks, remove obstacles and coordinate additional resources when needed.
Manage external development partners, suppliers, contracts and Statements of Work.
Support strategic technology partnerships and evaluate emerging technologies and solution opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, development efficiency and time to market.
Manage significant program and business-unit budgets, including forecasting, accruals and invoicing.

What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or another STEM discipline.
Approximately 12+ years of engineering and/or technical program management experience in complex product-development environments.
Previous experience managing or supervising technical professionals.
Demonstrated experience developing small-form-factor hardware products such as wearable computers, scanners, headsets, IoT devices or comparable connected products.
Experience successfully delivering significant AI and/or SaaS-based solutions to market.
Strong enterprise-level Technical Program Management experience.
Experience working within a PMO environment.
Experience working with external customers or professional-services organizations.
Strong understanding of both the technical and go-to-market aspects of the AI development lifecycle.
Experience coordinating solutions incorporating combinations of firmware, BSPs, mobile applications, cloud platforms and integrated software/services.
Strong knowledge of end-to-end New Product Introduction and product-launch processes.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical, quality, cost, schedule and program-risk challenges.
Strong leadership, communication, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
